The Draftsperson prepares detailed drawings and plans per the specifications provided by the Designers.
Responsibilities and Duties
The following reflects management’s definition of essential duties and responsibilities for this position but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned to an individual. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
- Based upon the desired design, produces CAD construction drawings that include as-built plans, floor plans, interior elevations, cabinet details, lighting and electrical plans, exterior elevations and roof plans (as required).
- Converts sketches into AutoCAD drawings, and identifies and resolves any measurement or layout issues with the Designer or Project Manager.
- Maintains electronic AutoCAD data for all projects and versions of drawings within specific projects to help ensure integrity and consistency during the conceptual, pre-construction, and construction phases of these specific projects
- Maintains and updates the CAD library, as required
- May accompany Designers to job sites to assist with measuring activities at the onset of projects, as required

Qualifications and Skills
- Must possess certified CAD training or equivalent industry experience
- Must possess a minimum of 2 years of related experience in AutoCAD drafting
- Must have working knowledge and an understanding of both framed & frameless cabinet construction
- Must be knowledgeable in printing/plotting/scanning of construction drawings
- Must have knowledge of current California residential building codes
- Must be organized, detail oriented, flexible, and creative
- Must have strong time management skills and multi-tasking abilities, and be able to resolve conflicting priorities
- Must be able to work under pressure well
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a “can do” and positive attitude
- Must be a team player who can work effectively with various members of the design and construction teams
- Must be PC literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook
Physical Requirements
Must be able to spend several hours at a time working on a computer and able to sit for long periods of time
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
- May need to visit project sites where there is dirt, dust, and a loud work environment
